OH MY GOSH our baby is 5!!! 5!!! Our baby is a big boy!!! Why is time flying so fast?
This year we decided to have a Pirate theme for Kade's party. Grandma, Grandpa, and Aunt Gina came from New York to celebrate with us. Kade calls Grandpa "Captain Jack Sparrow" and they always talk in pirate voices. They are really cute! This year also Papa built the boys a real pirate ship in the back yard with a sail, a plank, a treasure, and more. So we are surrounded by pirates! We all felt this theme was very fitting!
The party was amazing! We had lots of family and then Kade even invited 5 friends from school. This led to having 17 kids at his party! We got lots of ideas from Kade's best friend, Cooper.
We started off by finding a awesome treasure map! Cooper's dad made it for us and it is amazing! It led us to the kitchen where we got tattoos, patches, and scarfs. The map then led us into the dinning room where we decorated balloons to look like pirates with cool stickers. We then were led to the family room where we hunted for gold. The map then led us to the pinata in the foyer. Last we had to hunt down the treasure chest full of gold and jewels!
The kids loved the hunt and left with lots of goodies. We had an amazing italian dinner with homemade lasagna that was made by Grammers, and then sausage and meatballs made by me. The pirate cake was perfect and delicious.
Thank you everyone for coming and for the wonderful gifts. We are still enjoying all of the new toys and the boys are having a blast. Thank you to everyone that helped with the food and also to everyone that swabbed the deck (aka-scrubbed the floor) when the markers bled through the scarfs! I could not have thrown a party that amazing if it were not for all of the help I had from so many great people.
