New York 2009
We are so excited that we were able to make it to New York this year. It is a long ride, but once we are there, it is such an easy vacation and so fun! It is great to see all of our family members that we miss so bad and wish we could see more often. Kade and Rennen picked up with all the family members like we see them often. Rennen started calling Grandpa-"Pop's" and then it turned into "Popcorn!"
It is also so fun to see friends that I have had since I was very young. It is amazing that we can get together and it feel like we were just together last week. Again, it is so easy!
Thank you to all of our family members that went out of their way to see us lots. Uncle Marc hunted us down at Aunt Gina's one day, did not complain when the boys woke him up by banging pots and pans at his head, went to get us icecream, and wrestled with the boys. Uncle Anthony spent every non-working minute with us and was a huge help at the Snow Mountain. He even took kade down the mountain when he didn't even want to do it! Uncle Anth ended up helping Rennen on the ice because it was too hard for me with skates on. We loved seeing Unlce Anthony's house and his work. Aunt Gina was with us almost all the time. She even woke up pretty early to be able to give the boys her famous ICE CREAM breakfast. She justified it by saying it was fruit because it was strawberry icecream! She is bad! She kept the pizza coming and is one of the boys favorite people- wonder why??? She is one of my best friends! "Popcorn" aka Grandpa was able to get time off and spent lots of time playing with the boys and he had two shadows at all times. They took lots of walks with the dogs, vacummed the pool, and went on adventures. Rennen started calling him "Pops" and then it turned into "Popcorn" by the end of the week! Grandma had a whole basket of yummy treats that the boys loved digging in. She also made our favorite foods and she never complained when we took over the house.
It was really special to spend time with the Great-Grandma's in NY. We spent a good amount of time with them and we will never forget these special moments. One of the NY Great Grandma's is very sick and I will treasure the time we had this trip. She let me divide one of her plants and I already put it in a special spot that we will see every day. I love having sentamental things.
All in all, it was a great trip and we all enjoyed it so much. I do have the best husband and he never complained when all the girls came over and he was in charge of 12 kids in the yard. He had a PE class going on and had different games organized. He also never complained when Heather took our pictures and then we had a swim party. Again, Scott was on kid duty and played with all 9 kids in the pool. He really made this a nice trip for me and never complained or made me feel bad. I am so blessed!
